Sally Hansen (Hard as Nails Extreme Wear) - 340 Mint Sorbet
After purchasing this polish about two months ago it went into my polish basket, forgotten for the time being. Yesterday, however, I was rummaging through my large collection of polishes and I found this bottle and so I thought “why not?” I’ve never tried this specific brand of polish before so I wasn’t sure what to expect.
This gorgeous mint green polish went on smoothly in only two coats. I love this color a lot! It’s definitely up there in my “top favorite polishes” list along with OPI’s “Mermaid’s Tears” and China Glaze’s “For Audrey.” I would definitely recommend this polish for the spring/summer months.

OPI - Just Spotted the Lizard! (the Amazing Spider Man collection)
Hello all! I apologize for my long absence from this blog. After letting my pinky nail grow out, it was banquet/graduation time and I got acrylic nails which, after removing them, had left my nails really weak and disgusting. As you can probably see from the picture above, my nails still have not completely grown out yet.
Anyways, I was at Ulta the other day and was eager to try out some of the new OPI polishes. Just Spotted the Lizard immediately caught my eye and I was eager to try it out. Let me tell you - this picture does not do the polish justice at all. It is a gorgeous gold/green duochrome that applied flawlessly in two coats. Apparently it is also an exact dupe for Chanel’s Peridot. I only have the tiny bottle but, now that it’s on my nails, I really want to go back and purchase the bigger bottle. It is such a gorgeous color!
so today i went on a splurge at ULTA to buy some nail polish - well, only one but i couldn’t find it at first so i ended up in the sale aisle. i picked up William Tell me about it because i thought it was funny that it referenced another archer like Hawkeye :) it was a dollar fifty off. then i ended up with dutch you just love OPI and honk if you love OPI. if you go to ULTA this week and buy two full priced OPI’s and get a free top or base coat.
then i came home and i put them on.

it was at this point that i realized honk (thumb) and william tell (index) are pretty much dupes. the difference is that william tell went on easier and in my opinion, looks better. dutch you just love opi is beautiful but too light. if i was going to cosplay as Hawkeye i would recommend dutch. it would be super cute.
william tell is a nice purple-dark red that glides on easily. it can go too dark after a while but it’s a nice color all the same. honk if you love OPI is maybe half a shade lighter but didn’t go on as well.
so i coated my nails with william tell (NOTE - if you want a pretty sheen, putting dutch under a layer of william looks GORGEOUS) and topped everything but the thumbs with the top layer. that went on well. then i took some nailene french manicure white and put it on my thumbs in the shape of an arrow, then topped it.
so what do you guys think? the avengers opens tomorrow! woo!
omg friday after I’m all done with prom I’m going to try iron man nails :D
i’m pretty sure tomorrow i’m going to go out and buy dutch ya just love OPI so i can try out a hawkeye themed nail. i think it’ll be cute with all of the nails that color and then little white or black arrows on the thumb. <3
i’m seeing captain america on friday so i tried to give myself a cap inspired manicure. sadly it did not go as well as i anticipated.
first i glossed my nails with regular base. then, i took my sinful nails midnight blue and some tape and half painted my nails dark blue. this part went surprisingly well and it was quite easy.

then i painted the other half of my nails with OPI’s Red Lights Ahead … Where? because it’s a good red and my current obsession.

they turned out pretty awesome looking, but the red is WAAAY too bright to look like cap and i ended up not trying to put the star in the center. i think if i try again i’ll do a darker red and i’ll try and make a shield in the center. I’m also considering trying an iron-man inspired mani, or maybe a hawkeye one.
so is everyone else as excited for The Avengers as Andrea & I are? What should I try next?
Hey guys! I apologize that I (Andrea) haven’t updated this blog in a while. A few weeks ago, I completely ripped one of my pinky nails off and just haven’t been wearing polish while I waited for it to grow back. It’s pretty much back to normal length now so I should be back to updating soon :3

OPI’s Holland Collection - Red Lights Ahead … Where?
Yesterday my mom came up to pick up my stuff to move me out of my room and she took me to Ulta and I guilted her into buying me a new nail polish - it had been like two months since my last new one! I’ve been absolutely obsessing over OPI’s Holland collection for months. So when I got there, I had an internal debate over which one to buy. I ended up going with Red Lights Ahead … Where? because my mom was really insistent that I have a cute coral for summer.
Just like when I got Thanks a Wind-Million, I was super excited to put it on. It’s a little more pink than i expected - it looks vibrant red in the bottle - but it’s so cute. I just keep looking at my nails like they’re going to jump at me and turn into a cute dress or something! It went on like a charm and is surprisingly a one-coater. It was a little drippy but that may have been because I was so excited to put it on! Definitely a purchase must for those who don’t have a good coral (like me).

China Glaze Foie Gras (Hunger Games Collection)
Foie Gras was not my number one choice when I saw this collection. It looked very brown in the bottle and I am not a fan of brown nail polish. But when I went through and saw all of the big nail polish blogs raving, i decided to pick it up.
I’ve been wearing this polish for the past month and it’s been so awesome. People always ask me what color my nails are because it’s this funky purple wiht a hint of mahogany in it that just looks so good on my nails. I’m still fangirling over this collection two months later. so cute.

OPI - Mermaid’s Tears (Pirates of the Caribbean collection)
After wearing dark nails for about a week and a half, I really just wanted something light and spring-y on my nails. Mermaid’s Tears was the first and only polish I was drawn to.
Mermaid’s Tears is a gorgeous creme dusty sea green color. My only problem with application was caused by the fact that I’ve had this polish for a while now and use it so much that it’s starting to get thick. A drop of polish thinner will do the trick though so I’m not worried about having to throw my favorite polish away.
This collection is not in stores anymore but you’ll probably be able to find it online!
